The Alexander Technique
A proven approach to self care, the Alexander Technique teaches how to unlearn habitual patterns that cause unnecessary tension in everything we do.
This can be a stressful time and as Alexander Teachers we are here to help. And many of us have been working virtually for years. Although our work is primarily hands-on the principles of F.M. Alexander's work can be applied to any task that we are engaged in. Experiencing the importance of giving yourself permission to stop or slow down rather than constantly reacting (usually with excess tension and holding our breath) is a skill and one that can be very helpful. Take some time out of your day to do a guided self lesson or call one of our teachers for an online or in person lesson. And please let us know if we can answer any questions.
Book of the Month
We would like to introduce you to some of our favorite books on the Alexander Technique.
By Michael Gelb
Still one of my favorite introductory books on the Alexander Technique. New students enjoy it for the simplicity and great photos and explanations of how we are designed for upright posture and ease, what goes so terribly wrong that we find ourselves in pain and discomfort and how learning the Alexander Technique can help us regain our ease and poise.
Everyone loves Mr. Gelb's choice of photos and his friendly upbeat writing makes it an easy and yet thorough glimpse at who F.M. Alexander was and what is technique entails.

This is a great time of year to sign up for a 4 or 6 week workshop and find out how how you can learn to move with greater ease and better coordination.
